# Number List settings reference

This reference describes the filters, fields, values, and actions available
for Number Lists and Number List items under **Voice > Inbound Trunks > Number
Lists**. For configuration steps, see [Configure number lists](how-to-guides/configure-number-lists.html).

## Number Lists

A Number List defines how inbound calling numbers are matched and what happens
when no Number List item matches a call.

### Filters

Use the controls above the Number Lists table to narrow the displayed lists.
Filters can be combined.

| Filter | Filter condition | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Friendly Name | Text filter | Shows Number Lists whose friendly name matches the entered text. |
| [Mode](#inbound-number-lists-mode-values) | Single-select filter | Shows Number Lists with the selected value. **Any** does not restrict the results by mode. |
| [Default Action](#inbound-number-lists-default-action-values) | Single-select filter | Shows Number Lists with the selected value. **Any** does not restrict the results by default action. |

### Main fields

| Field | Access | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Friendly Name | Editable | Name used to identify the Number List in the DIDWW User Panel. Select the name to open the list's Number List items. |
| [Mode](#inbound-number-lists-mode-values) | Editable | Determines whether an item must match the complete calling number or the beginning of the calling number. |
| [Default Action](#inbound-number-lists-default-action-values) | Editable | Action applied when no Number List item matches the calling number. |
| Actions | Contextual | Opens the actions available for the Number List. |

### Settings

| Field | Availability | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Friendly name | Required | Name used to identify the Number List in the DIDWW User Panel. Accepted length is up to 160 characters. |
| [Mode](#inbound-number-lists-mode-values) | Required | Matching method applied to the Number List items. The default value is **Full number match**. |
| [Default action](#inbound-number-lists-default-action-values) | Required | Action applied when no Number List item matches the calling number. The default value is **Allow call**. |

### Mode values

| Value | Example | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Full number match | Add `12025550123` to match that complete calling number. | A Number List item matches only when its complete number is identical to the inbound calling number. The item does not match `120255501234`. |
| Prefix match | Add `1202` to match calling numbers that begin with those digits. | A Number List item matches when its configured digits appear at the beginning of the inbound calling number and the number satisfies the item's length limits. For example, the prefix can match `12025550123`. |

### Default Action values

| Value | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Allow call | Allows the call when no Number List item matches the calling number. |
| Reject call | Rejects the call when no Number List item matches the calling number. |

### Actions

| Action | Availability | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Edit | All Number Lists | Opens the Number List settings for editing. |
| Manage numbers | All Number Lists | Opens the Number List items currently stored in the list. |
| Add numbers | All Number Lists | Opens the dialog for adding one or more Number List items without first opening the items table. |
| Delete | Unassigned Number Lists | Deletes the Number List after confirmation. A Number List assigned to a trunk cannot be deleted. The confirmation dialog does not check the assignment, so the list remains in the table after you confirm. |

Important

To delete an assigned Number List, first use the **CLI Number List** filter
under **Voice > Inbound Trunks > Trunks** to find the trunks that use it.
Remove the Number List from those trunks, and then delete the list.

## Number List items

Number List items contain the numbers or prefixes evaluated by a Number List.
When an item matches, its **Action** overrides the Number List's **Default
Action**. When no item matches, the **Default Action** applies.

### Filters

Use the controls above the **Manage Numbers** table to narrow the displayed
items. Filters can be combined.

| Filter | Filter condition | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Number | Text filter | Shows items whose number or prefix matches the entered text. |
| [Action](#inbound-number-list-item-action-values) | Single-select filter | Shows items with the selected value. **Any** does not restrict the results by action. |

### Main fields

| Field | Access | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Number | Editable | Complete number or prefix evaluated according to the Number List's **Mode**. Accepted length is up to 100 characters. |
| Min. Length | Editable | Minimum total length of a calling number that can match a prefix item. Accepted values range from `0` to `100`. |
