### Status values

| Value | Description |
| --- | --- |
| New | Emergency Calling service verification has not been started yet. A new request starts in this status. No charge is made. |
| In process | Emergency Calling service verification is in process. The request cannot be canceled in this status. |
| Changes required | Emergency Calling service verification needs to be resubmitted. The service page shows the **Reject Reason(s)** and any comments. Resubmitting does not add a charge, and the status returns to **In process**. No charge is made if the request is rejected. |
| Active | Emergency Calling service is active. The first monthly service administration fee and any applicable one-time setup fee are charged at activation. The administration fee is charged again at each monthly renewal. |
| Pending update | Emergency Calling service is active, but a request to change the emergency address is being processed. Verification takes up to 5 business days, and the currently verified address stays in use until then. If the change is approved, the new address is applied. If it is rejected, the previous address stays in use. In both cases the status returns to **Active**. No further address change can be requested, and source numbers cannot be removed, until the update is completed. |
| Canceled | Emergency Calling service has been canceled. All its source numbers are deactivated, and the service does not renew. The service page is read-only and shows the cancellation reasons in **Reject Reason(s)**. |
