# Check SMPP ESME trunk connection status

Check whether your application is bound to the DIDWW SMSC with an SMPP ESME
trunk. The status shows the bind that your application establishes. Checking
it does not connect or bind your application.

## Before you begin

- An active DIDWW account is required. [Sign in to DIDWW](https://my.didww.com/users/sign_in).
- An SMPP ESME trunk is required. If you do not have one, see [Create an
  SMPP ESME trunk](create-smpp-esme-trunk.html).
- Your application must be configured to bind with the trunk's credentials.
See [Bind an SMPP ESME trunk](bind-smpp-esme-trunk.html).

## Step 1: Open the status window

1. In the DIDWW User Panel, go to **SMS > SMS Trunks**.
2. Locate the SMPP ESME trunk and click the **Actions** button next to it.
3. Select **Check Status**.

## Step 2: Review the connection status

The **Status Information** window shows the current bind of the trunk.

## Next steps

- If the trunk is not connected, check the bind parameters, the trunk's
**Allowed IP addresses**, and your firewall. See [Bind an SMPP ESME
  trunk](bind-smpp-esme-trunk.html).
